This juried contest is open to all amateur (defined as deriving less than 50% of income from photography activities) photographers. A Student Category is open to photographers 18 and under.
Entries are to be in the following categories: General – photos of any subject matter; Nature – photos of non-domesticated animals, plants, insect life or scenics; Memorial Day/Patriotic – photos depicting Memorial Day activities or patriotic themes; Black and White ? photos of any subject matter and Youth - photos of any subject matter taken by a youth aged 18 or under

The Taylor County Photography Club meets monthly every third Thursday at 7:00pm in the City Council Chambers, 1 West Main Street in Grafton. The monthly meetings have a program on some aspect of photography (workshops, slide shows, demonstrations, invited speakers etc.). Conventional and digital photography subjects are included.
The primary purpose of the club is for the enjoyment of photography and to encourage members to improve their skills through club training sessions and fellowship with other members. The club is affiliated with the Photographic Society of America.
The club sponsors two nationally judged contests each year: one during the May observance of Memorial Day in Grafton: and the other a Fall Photography Contest. Other club activities include informational meetings and field trips throughout the year. Photographers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, are welcomed. Annual club dues are $15.00 for an individual or for a family living at the same address..
Guests are always welcome to attend club meetings and outings. Currently there are over fifty members from Taylor, Harrison, Marion and Monongalia Counties. Size Restrictions For Art
All prints must be mounted or matted and ready to hang with a minimum overall size of 8”x 10” and a maximum overall size of 16”x20”. (Ready to hang means a non-abrasive cord attached to back with gum hangers, linen tape, or other form of sturdy tape or use a special hanger made for this purpose. Masking tape or Scotch tape is not strong enough to hold photos safely.) DO NOT USE wires or metal hooks. To avoid damage that could occur if your photos should fall, try hanging photos for a few days before submitting. Photos must not be framed. No signed prints or mats are allowed.
Awards
Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in each category, as well as Best of Show. Ribbons will also be awarded for Honorable Mention and the People’s Choice Award. The amount of prizes will be determined based on the total number of entries.
